Diktynna sanctuary, dated from 700 BC is located next to Menies beach. Diktynna was a goddess of the Minoan era. The original sanctuary was destroyed but it was rebuild during the Roman period. Statues of the Roman emperor and of the goddess that have been found here have been moved to the Chania museum.
