Vrisinas Antennas Park
Occupying the highest peak of Mount Vrisinas south of Rethymno city, this elevated plateau sits at an altitude of nearly 858 meters and serves as the primary telecommunications hub for central and northern Rethymno.

Sanctuary History & Peak Views:
Long before the array of modern communication towers, radio masts, and microwave dishes were erected, Mount Vrisinas was a sacred site. Excavations revealed a major Minoan Peak Sanctuary near the summit, where ancient Cretans offered votive clay figures. Today, right beside the modern antenna complex stands the small chapel of Holy Spirit (Agios Pnevma), where a major annual feast day is celebrated in early summer.

Panoramas:
Due to its prominent position hovering directly over Rethymno, the summit offers an unmatched 360-degree vantage point. Looking north, you get a full sweep of the entire Rethymno coastline, the Venetian Fortezza, and the Cretan Sea. To the south and east, the view opens up over the Amari valley, the rugged peaks of Kedros, and the massifs of Psiloritis.

Rider’s/Explorer's Notes:
The Access: Reached via a winding asphalt and concrete access road climbing up from the villages of Mikra Anogia or Armeni. The climb features sharp switchbacks and high wind exposure near the top. There is space to park near the peak and chapel area, making it a quick and rewarding road trip for expansive high-altitude views.
